a sunday hike in the hills
Saw this wacked out fence yesterday on the Green Valley Trail near Mt. Diablo. Once again misplaced the trail on the return.

Weekend Report
I'm winding down from a relatively active weekend.
On Saturday evening I attended a concert at the Mountain Winery (my absolute favorite venue). Sean Lennon and his band performed first. I am new to Lennon's music and count myself a fan as of Saturday. He and his band were appealing in a couple of ways: First, looking at Sean Lennon, and seeing his father and mother so clearly, was strange and wonderful. Second, the music he writes and performs is captivating.
Rufus Wainwright and his band played second, as headliners. I have known about Rufus for a couple of years, but until Saturday, hadn't heard any of his music except his recording of "Halleluja". By the time he took the stage and began his first song, i was hooked; completely and utterly devoted to the man. His lyrics are in your face and, well, lyrical. His music is kind of over the top and absolutely perfect.
Today, Sunday, I spent the afternoon with various family members, at sfmoma, looking at the photo exhibit currently on display. The featured photographer is Martin Munkacsi. http://www.sfmoma.org/exhibitions/exhib_detail.asp?id=260.

finale
Whew! so happy to be finished with the final project and test. Thank you, rob, for preparing us.
Getting to completion on the final project, the two collages, was quite an ordeal, creatively and emotionally. I got so frustrated with my process and my collages that i had decided to just quit: No final project! No final exam!
Fortunately, there was a dilema. i badly wanted to finish the class.
After some intense deep breathing, i let go of the idea of being perfect... instead i'd just be.
Class that evening was exciting. i had made a good decision.
Thank you, jessie, rob, marina, rachel, ena, sarah, john, tom, marti, jelana, for a very enriching experience.
I'll have a photo to post later.

Taking Care of Business
Fellow photographers, I am unable to attend class this evening. I will be supporting a friend at a contentious board meeting. I look forward to being in class tomorrow, Wednesday! Peace Out.

A Gorgeous Sunday Hike
What a fantastic day for hiking in the hills. Paul and I took the Iron Horse trail from our house to the end of Camille in Danville. From there we entered the Las Trampas hills hiking area, following the Madrone trail to Ringtail trail. I had a hard time finding my stride, since i was stopping so often to take pix, and the climb seemed much steeper today than a couple of weeks ago. I shot a few photos and so was excited to get them onto my computer and look at them.
Alas, so much for my perfect workflow... as i was up(or down?)loading the photos, i cleverly deleted all the raw photos instead of converting them. argh!
to the left are some photos from today's hike (the one with no raw files anymore). i hope robert returns to class because i'm worried that he's given up on us. Please, robert, if you ever read these, come back.
